Assistant Professor, Psychology
I completed my MA and PhD at Louisiana State University in Clinical Psychology, where my training was largely focused in pediatric psychology and health behavior change. I then completed my Clinical Psychology internship and two years of postdoctoral fellowship in Health Psychology at Brown University, where much of my work was centered around clinical research targeting adolescent and adult weight management and smoking cessation studies. I remained a faculty member at Brown Medical School, in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior, for seven years, continuing this line of research. I hold a BA in Psychology from Indiana University, and an MA and PhD from Louisiana State University. In 2008, I came to the Department of Psychology at UMass Dartmouth where I am currently an Associate Professor.
I have received grant support from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), private foundations, as well as internal grant funding from the University of Massachusetts. I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist and maintain an active clinical research lab with graduate and undergraduate students, with a particular interest in involving students in meaningful community-based research projects.
