Assistant Professor, Psychology
I completed my MA and PhD at Louisiana State University in Clinical Psychology, where my training was largely focused in pediatric psychology and health behavior change. I then completed my Clinical Psychology internship and two years of postdoctoral fellowship in Health Psychology at Brown University, where much of my work was centered around clinical research targeting adolescent and adult weight management and smoking cessation studies. I remained at Brown Medical School, Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior, in a faculty position for seven years, continuing this line of research. I hold a BA degree in Psychology from Indiana University, Bloomington.
In 2008, I came to the Department of Psychology at UMass Dartmouth where I am an Assistant Professor. I maintain an Adjunct faculty appointment at Brown Medical School as well.
I have received grant support from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, as well as internal grant funding from the University of Massachusetts. Most recently, these awards have focused on prevention of college freshmen weight gain through novel intervention strategies.
