THE
EFFECTS OF CLASS SIZE AND LEARNING STYLE ON STUDENT PERFORMANCE IN A MULTIMEDIA-BASED
MARKETING COURSE
ABSTRACT
This paper reviews the current instructional
methods used in higher education, particularly the information
technology with emphasis on multimedia lecture presentations
in the classroom. Traditionally, students in large sections
perform poorly in terms of content knowledge compared to those
in small sections. In addition, research has shown that students
with different learning styles perform differently in the same
classroom. This study proposes that these effects may be minimized
by the extensive use of multimedia technology in the classroom.
The results of an exploratory study are reported.
